5 Natural Ways to Lower Uric Acid Fast
This video explains what uric acid is, its symptoms, causes, and how to control it naturally at home.
Uric acid is a waste that your body makes when it breaks down a substance called purines. But what are purines? Purines are natural parts of your body. They help build DNA and RNA and also give energy. Purines are found in some foods too, like red meat, seafood, spinach, and mushrooms. Your body also makes purines on its own.
Now imagine your body is like a machine. When you eat, it breaks down purines into smaller parts. One of these waste parts is uric acid. Usually, your body removes uric acid through urine. But if there is too much uric acid in your body, it can stay in your blood and joints. This can lead to swelling, joint pain, kidney stones, or a painful illness called gout (a kind of arthritis).
But don’t worry. You can easily help your body remove extra uric acid by following some simple and natural tips.
First, drink more water. Water helps your kidneys flush out uric acid from your body through urine. Try to drink at least 8 to 10 glasses every day. Drink more if the weather is hot or you are doing physical work.
Second, eat more fruits and vegetables—especially the ones with low purines. Red meat and seafood have high purines, so it’s better to eat foods like cucumber, carrots, tomatoes, berries, apples, and leafy vegetables. Cherries are also very helpful. They reduce uric acid and heat in the body.
Third, avoid sugary drinks and alcohol. Soft drinks, packaged juices, and alcohol—especially beer—can increase uric acid levels. They also make it harder for your liver and kidneys to work properly. Instead, drink lemon water or coconut water. These are good for your health.
Fourth, try drinking celery seed water. Celery seeds are known to help people who have high uric acid or gout problems. They are a natural diuretic, which means they help your body pass more urine and remove waste. To make it, boil 1 teaspoon of celery seeds in 1 cup of water, strain it, and drink it once it cools down. You can do this once every day.
Lastly, do regular exercise. Being overweight can increase uric acid. Daily movement helps your body remove waste better. Try to walk for 30 minutes every day. You can also do yoga, stretching, light workouts at home, or even breathing exercises. But if you already have gout pain, avoid heavy exercise as it can make the pain worse.
Uric acid might sound like a small issue, but if you ignore it, it can become a serious health problem. These small lifestyle changes can help you stay fit and pain-free.
