6-Year-Old Drives Car, Police Officer Suspended
A Hyderabad police officer was suspended after a video showed his six-year-old granddaughter driving a car on a public road.
A shocking video from Hyderabad has gone viral, and this time, it involves a police officer.
The video shows the officer's six-year-old granddaughter driving a car on the busy Gandhamguda–Bairagiguda road in the Narsingi Police Station area, while the officer sits in the front passenger seat.
As the video spread online, many people criticised the officer, saying he put both the child and other road users in danger by allowing a minor to drive on a public road.
Following the backlash, the Cyberabad Traffic Police registered a case against the officer. The Telangana Director General of Police also suspended him and ordered a departmental inquiry.
Police reminded the public that allowing a minor to drive is a violation of traffic laws, as children below the legal driving age are not permitted to operate motor vehicles on public roads.
The incident has once again raised an important question: Should police officers be held to even higher standards since they are responsible for enforcing the law?
