Actor Mukul Dev Passes Away At 54

Veteran actor Mukul Dev passed away on May 23, 2025, at the age of 54, after battling health and emotional struggles.

Bollywood actor Mukul Dev passed away on 23rd May 2025, at the age of 54. The news has shocked the film industry and his fans. Mukul Dev was known for his work in Hindi, Punjabi, and regional cinema, and also appeared in many popular TV shows.

Mukul Dev was born in New Delhi in 1970. He was the younger brother of actor Rahul Dev. Before entering the film industry, Mukul was a trained pilot and worked as a commercial pilot for nearly 10 years. He even ran an aeronautical institute in Delhi, helping young people make a career in aviation.

He made his film debut in 1996 with Mahesh Bhatt’s movie Dastak, where he acted with Sushmita Sen. Over the years, he played different roles in films like Qila, Wajood, Mujhe Meri Biwi Se Bachao, Yamla Pagla Deewana, Son of Sardaar, R... Rajkumar, Jai Ho, and many more.

Mukul Dev married Shilpa Dev in the early 2000s. They had a daughter named Sia in 2002. However, in 2005, the couple decided to part ways. They chose to keep their personal life private.

In recent years, Mukul faced many personal struggles. His father, who was a retired police officer, passed away in April 2019, and his mother, a teacher, died in 2024. After this, Mukul became very lonely and stopped meeting people.

His sister-in-law, actress Mugdha Godse, shared that he was in the ICU for one week due to health issues, but sadly, he could not survive.

Director Hansal Mehta, a close friend of Mukul, said, “He silently suffered and turned to alcohol to escape his pain. His heart was full of unfulfilled dreams.”

Actor Vindu Dara Singh also spoke about Mukul’s depression after his mother’s death. “He was very close to his parents. After losing them, he felt very alone. He started drinking and chewing gutka. There was no one to stop him. He was such a wonderful person.”
