Akshay Kumar’s Security Vehicle Toppled in a Roadside Accident
A security escort vehicle from Akshay Kumar’s convoy met with an accident in Juhu on 19 January. Police have arrested the Mercedes driver as the investigation continues.
On the evening of 19 January 2026, a road accident involving a security escort vehicle from actor Akshay Kumar’s convoy took place near Silver Beach in Juhu, Mumbai. The accident happened between 8 and 9 pm when the convoy was moving through the area.
According to Mumbai Police and eyewitnesses, a speeding Mercedes car hit an auto-rickshaw from behind. Due to the impact, the auto-rickshaw was pushed forward and crashed into Akshay Kumar’s security escort vehicle, which was part of the convoy. Some reports also claimed that the escort vehicle may have hit Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna’s car, but this information has not been officially confirmed. The couple was reportedly returning to their Juhu residence from the airport after an overseas trip.
Videos that went viral on social media showed the security escort vehicle overturned on the road, while the auto-rickshaw was badly crushed. The auto driver and one passenger were trapped inside the damaged vehicle. Local people, bystanders, and officials quickly stepped in to help rescue them.
The auto driver was critically injured and later appealed to the authorities for proper medical treatment and compensation for the damage caused in the accident. An eyewitness described the scene as “scary to see,” but said it was a relief that everyone survived. Some social media users claimed that Akshay Kumar got out of his car and helped people at the spot, but there has been no official confirmation from the actor’s team.
Mumbai Police reached the spot quickly and controlled the situation. A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against the Mercedes driver, who has been identified and arrested. The investigation is still ongoing.
