“Aren’t Billions Enough?” - Dhruv Rathee Calls Out Shah Rukh Khan for Endorsing Paan Masala

Dhruv Rathee has questioned Shah Rukh Khan for endorsing paan masala despite being one of the richest actors in the world. His video has reignited a debate on wealth and morality.

Popular YouTuber and influencer Dhruv Rathee has sparked a national debate after criticizing Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan for promoting a paan masala brand. In a video posted on X, Rathee questioned why Shah Rukh Khan, with an estimated net worth of $1.4 billion (?12,400 crore), still chooses to endorse a product linked to harmful health effects.

Rathee said it is difficult to even imagine a fortune as large as ?12,400 crore. To explain the scale of this wealth, he shared examples, saying one could travel the world in business class every day or buy luxury penthouses in London, Dubai, and New York and still have plenty of money left. He also claimed that if SRK invested his wealth wisely, he could earn about ?500 crore every year in interest alone, without doing any film or advertisement.

He then questioned why a billionaire would still promote paan masala, asking whether an extra ?100–?200 crore is worth the social cost. Rathee urged Shah Rukh Khan to think about the influence he has on people and the positive change he could inspire by refusing such endorsements.

The video quickly went viral and sparked mixed reactions. Some praised Rathee for raising a valid moral question, while others defended SRK, saying endorsements are part of business. So far, Shah Rukh Khan has not responded. The debate has now turned into a bigger question of celebrity responsibility and social influence
