Bengaluru: Woman Ties Up Boyfriend And Sets Him Afire

A 27-year-old woman in Bengaluru was arrested for murder after luring her boyfriend into a fatal trap, tying him up under the guise of BDSM roleplay before setting him on fire.

What began as a workplace romance at a Rajajinagar Vi store ended in a gruesome premeditated murder in Bengaluru’s Gadde Khan area. Kiran and Prema, both 27, had been dating for a year, but the relationship soured when Kiran rejected Prema’s marriage proposal and began distancing himself.

On the morning of April 21, Prema lured Kiran to her home under the guise of a "western-style" surprise.

Exploiting the language of BDSM to mask her intent, Prema convinced Kiran to let her tie his hands and feet and place a blindfold over his eyes. She framed the restraint as part of a sensory roleplay, telling him to "relax" for his surprise.

Once Kiran was immobilized and defenseless, the "surprise" was revealed:

Prema doused Kiran in accelerant (petrol/kerosene) and set him ablaze. Crucially, Prema recorded the entire immolation on her phone, filming as Kiran screamed and succumbed to his injuries. Neighbors alerted authorities after seeing smoke, but Kiran died at the scene.

Initially, Prema claimed she was in the bathroom and that Kiran had committed suicide. However, the Bengaluru police quickly dismantled her story.

The video recovered from her phone provided undeniable evidence of her presence and inaction during the killing. Under interrogation, Prema confessed to the murder.

Prema is currently in custody facing murder charges. Kiran’s body was moved to Victoria Hospital for a postmortem examination as the investigation concludes.
