Bharti Singh and Husband Granted Bail

Comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau for alleged possession and use of marijuana.

Comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for alleged possession and use of marijuana. They both have been granted bail by a Mumbai court on 23rd November. The NCB had said that a small quantity of cannabis - 86.5 grams was found from their home. Later, they were taken to the agency's Mumbai office for questioning. NCB said in a statement, “Both Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa accepted consuming ganja.” Bharti Singh was arrested on Saturday 21st November. Her husband was arrested on Sunday 22nd November. 

On Sunday, the couple was produced before the magistrate's court, which remanded them to judicial custody till 4th December and then on Monday 23rd November they were granted bail. Their lawyer Aiyaz Khan said, “Both of them have been granted bail by the Metropolitan Magistrate Court on furnishing a bail bond of ? 15,000 each. No reply was filed by the NCB yet.” According to an NCB official, Bharti Singh's name emerged during questioning of a drug peddler. In the last three months, top Bollywood actors -  Arjun Rampal, Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Rakulpreet Singh and Shraddha Kapoor - have been questioned by the NCB as a part of the probe.
