BJP-led Centre Gives Z+ Security To AAP Leader Raghav Chadha

AAP MP Raghav Chadha is at the center of a political controversy involving a sudden security reshuffle, opposition criticism, and alleged links to Enforcement Directorate raids on Ashok Mittal.

A political storm is brewing around Raghav Chadha after the Punjab government, led by Aam Aadmi Party, reportedly withdrew his Z-plus security, recalling assigned police personnel.

Soon after, the Ministry of Home Affairs stepped in, granting Chadha Z-category protection in Punjab and Delhi, and Y-category cover elsewhere, citing an Intelligence Bureau threat assessment.

Opposition leaders from the Indian National Congress and the Shiromani Akali Dal questioned the move, calling it potentially political and demanding transparency. Some even alleged tacit coordination between AAP and the Bharatiya Janata Party. Confusion deepened as Punjab Police avoided confirming the withdrawal, while Delhi Police was asked to ensure Chadha’s safety temporarily.

Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate raided multiple locations linked to Ashok Mittal across Punjab and Haryana under a FEMA probe, including Lovely Professional University.

AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj alleged a larger conspiracy—linking central agencies, Chadha’s security upgrade, and the ED raids. He claimed Chadha was pressured, sidelined, and possibly complicit in targeting Mittal after being replaced as deputy leader.

Amid the controversy, Chadha has stayed measured, posting about his parliamentary work and hinting at internal tensions—subtly referencing Arvind Kejriwal with cryptic messages like “Never Outshine the Master.”
