Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt has become the victim of a shocking financial scam, as her former personal assistant, Vedika Prakash Shetty, was arrested for embezzling nearly ?77 lakh over two years. Hired in 2021, Vedika held a trusted position at Alia’s production house, Eternal Sunshine Productions, with access to sensitive financial details. Using fake invoices and forged signatures, she diverted funds into accomplices’ accounts, which were later routed to her. The fraud was discovered in January 2025 when Alia’s mother, Soni Razdan, spotted a suspicious invoice, leading to a full audit and police complaint. After evading arrest for months across multiple cities, Vedika was finally caught in Bengaluru on 8th July 2025. She is now in custody under charges of criminal breach of trust and forgery under the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Investigations are ongoing to trace the stolen funds and identify others involved. This incident highlights the dangers of misplaced trust and the need for strong internal financial checks, even within celebrity circles.
