Deaf Man & Interpreter Arrested By ATS

Sleuths of Uttar Pradesh’s Anti-Terrorists Squad have arrested an interpreter, a Deaf man and another man in connection to a religious conversion racket. Watch our latest video to learn more.

Uttar Pradesh’s Anti-Terrorists Squad arrested three more members of the religious conversion gang. 

They were arrested on the inputs extracted during interrogation of Mufti Qazi Jahangir Qasmi and Mohammad Umar Gautam, who were arrested by the ATS. Confirming these arrests on 28th June 2021, ADG (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar identified the three accused as Mannu Yadav aka Abdul Mannan, Irfan Khan and Rahul Bhola. 

While Mannu was arrested from Gurugram in Haryana, Rahul from Delhi and Irfan were held from Maharashtra. According to a News18 report, Irfan was a sign language expert, working with ISLRTC and has good contacts among deaf people. Rahul Bhola was helping Irfan in identifying gullible students for converting them to Islam. Irfan then put them in touch with Mufti Qazi Jahangir Qasmi and Mohammad Umar Gautam who would then issue them conversion certificates. The ADG said that huge foreign funds were pumped into Jehangir & Gautam’s accounts from overseas for religious conversion between 2010 and June 2021. So far the ATS had unraveled that Rs 1.70 crore, in cash and cheques, were transferred into the accounts of the prime accused. Of this, Rs 50 lakhs was deposited from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Qatar and Jeddah he added.
