Delhi Man Fools Scammer Using ChatGPT

A Delhi man used AI and a fake payment portal to expose a scammer trying to cheat him. The scammer panicked after his photo and location were captured.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a big part of our everyday lives and made many difficult tasks very simple. But just like every good thing has a bad side, many scammers are now using AI to cheat common people. However, in this case, a common man used AI to outsmart a scammer who tried to steal his money.

A man from Delhi received a Facebook message from someone pretending to be a senior from his college. This fake senior claimed to be an IAS officer and said that his friend in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was being transferred and was selling expensive furniture and appliances at very low prices. The man became suspicious because he already had his senior’s WhatsApp number and wondered why he would message on Facebook instead.

To confirm, he contacted his real senior on WhatsApp and found out the message was fake. Soon after, the scammer contacted him again from a different WhatsApp number with an army profile picture and shared photos of furniture. Once payment was discussed, the scammer quickly became impatient.

Instead of blocking the scammer, the man decided to teach him a lesson. Being from an IT background, he used ChatGPT to create a fake payment portal designed to capture the scammer’s GPS location, IP address, and a front-camera photo. He sent the link to the scammer, who clicked on it.

The fake portal captured all the details, and the man sent the scammer’s own selfie and location back to him. Shocked and scared, the scammer began begging for forgiveness. According to the Reddit post, there is no confirmation of police involvement, and the story relies only on the man’s account.
