Indian Defence Minister Warns China

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed the Lok Sabha and gave an update about the Chinese army deployed at the LAC in Ladakh.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed the Lok Sabha on 15th September and said that China has deployed many soldiers at the LAC (India-China Border) breaking the agreements which were made in 1993 and 1996. This is the reason why there have been so many fights and problems at the LAC. Singh said that the Indian Army has deployed extra soldiers at the border and the army is ready to face any situation. He said at the Eastern Ladakh, Gogra, Kongka La, Pangong Lake’s North & South Points the Chinese army has become aggressive and is creating problems. Singh also said that India and China made an agreement about the Indo-China border issue in 1960. India has been following the agreement but China does not agree to this now and says certain Indian territories are theirs. That is why there are problems.

China is being very stubborn and this is why the problem is not solved. Singh spoke about his meeting with China’s Defence Minister Wei Fenghe in Moscow last month. Singh said, “I Told Mr Fenghe that the Indian army has always wanted peace at the border but if anything happens then the army will do anything to protect Indian territory.”
