Mary Kom Accused of Cheating; Ex-Husband Says He Has Proof

Mary Kom and her husband Onler have publicly revealed the bitter end of their 20-year marriage, with disputes over loyalty, money, and alleged affairs.

Mary Kom, India’s boxing champion, and her husband Karung Onkholer, popularly known as Onler, have made headlines following revelations about their long-hidden divorce. The couple, once seen as a strong partnership, quietly ended their 20-year marriage in 2023 under the traditional Kom Customary Laws to protect their reputation and children.

Mary Kom and Onler married in 2005. For years, Onler gave up his football career and studies to manage the household and raise their four children while Mary focused on her boxing career. However, Onler later said he felt like a “slave” at home, handling all the chores while Mary earned fame and money.

According to Onler, tensions in the marriage began as early as 2013. He alleged that Mary had an affair with a junior boxer during that period. Despite family efforts to keep the couple together, the relationship remained strained, ultimately ending in divorce.

The situation became public in January 2026 when Mary Kom appeared on the TV show “Aap Ki Adalat.” Host Rajat Sharma highlighted Onler’s sacrifices, to which Mary sharply replied that he had no successful career and claimed he was inactive at home. She also revealed that after her 2022 injury, she discovered Onler had withdrawn ?10 lakh from her account without permission, calling it a betrayal.

In response, Onler gave interviews defending himself. He denied taking any money and stated he lives modestly in a rented room with no expensive assets. He said he had paused his own career at Mary’s request to care for their children and run the household while she pursued boxing. He also claimed Mary Kom had multiple affairs during their marriage, first in 2013 and later in 2017, with messages to support his claims.

Onler added that their children were deeply hurt and angry about the divorce and Mary’s alleged relationships, even wanting to confront the men involved.

Today, Mary Kom and Onler live completely separate lives. What was once considered one of India’s strongest marriages has ended in a public and bitter legal battle over loyalty, money, and the truth behind their 20 years together.
