Night Curfew Imposed in Delhi & Gujarat

Delhi today imposed a 10 pm to 5 am night curfew till April 30 to tackle a steep rise in Covid infections. The night curfew will continue till 30th April. Officials said, During night curfew hours, those going for vaccinations and the movement of essential services will be allowed with e-passes. Private doctors, nurses, other medical staff and journalists will be allowed on the streets with ID cards. Exceptions will also be made for pregnant women and those needing treatment. Those travelling to or from the airport, train and bus stations will be allowed on the road if they produce their tickets.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had on Friday said Delhi was going through the fourth wave of COVID-19. He told reporters, “As per the current situation, we are not considering imposing a lockdown. We are closely monitoring the situation and such a decision will only be taken after public consultation.” States like Maharashtra and Rajasthan have also launched night curfews to restrict movement of people. Gujarat government has imposed a night curfew in a total of 20 cities from 8 PM to 6 AM from Wednesday, April 7.
