RCB Bowler Yash Dayal Accused of Sexually Assaulting Minor Girl
Cricketer Yash Dayal is facing serious sexual assault and cheating charges, with two FIRs filed in Jaipur and Ghaziabad.
On 23rd July 2025, Jaipur Police filed an FIR (First Information Report) against Indian cricketer Yash Dayal, who plays as a fast bowler for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL.
A minor girl has accused him of sexually assaulting her several times since 2023. She said Yash promised to help her make a career in cricket, but instead, he abused her repeatedly until April 2025, including during their time in Jaipur.
The FIR has been filed at the Sanganer Sadar Police Station under the POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences), which carries strict punishment, including 10 years to life imprisonment.
As per India’s new criminal law, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the identity of the girl has not been revealed to protect her privacy.
Surprisingly, this is not the first complaint against Yash Dayal. Just a few weeks ago, on 6th July 2025, another FIR was filed against him in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
In that case, a woman accused him of emotionally cheating her for more than 5 years. She said that he gave her false hopes of marriage. The complaint was first sent online to the Uttar Pradesh government portal on 21st June 2025.
This second FIR has been filed under Section 69 of the BNS, which deals with cheating someone for personal gain. However, the Allahabad High Court has given him temporary protection from arrest while the investigation is ongoing.
Police are now checking his phone chats, collecting digital evidence, and recording statements in both cases.
If found guilty, especially under the POCSO Act, Yash Dayal could face very serious punishment.
The news has led to strong reactions on social media, with many women’s rights groups and cricket fans demanding that action be taken and that the IPL and BCCI check players' backgrounds more strictly in future.
