Restaurants & Bars In Maharashtra to Open from October

On Monday 28th September Chief Minister Uddav Thackeray allowed 4 lakh restaurants & bars to restart from the first week of October.

The hospitality industry was struggling to get back to normal since unlocking has begun. Around 40% restaurants were only doing home deliveries as most of their employees have gone back to native places and have refused to return till the vaccine is available.On Monday 28th September Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray allowed 4 lakh restaurant, bars and eatery outlets to start their operations from the first week of October. The decision came in after a meeting between industry organizations and the CM. However all 4 lakh restaurants, bars and eateries have agreed to restart business at 50% capacity to obey the government norms for social distancing. 

The decision will benefit 60 lakh employees working in these restaurants, bars etc and 1.8 crore indirect employees who do business with restaurants such as vegetables, meats, and food suppliers. HRAWI - Hotel and Restaurant Association (Wester India) and AHAR - Indian Hotel and Restaurant Association have welcomed the decision as it will regenerate employment. They also added that social distancing, use of sanitizers, masks will be mandatory.
