Rs 1,000 Fine For Not Linking PAN & Aadhar Card

Deadline for PAN Aadhaar Link is 31st March 2021 and like previous occasions, people have presumed that there will be extension in Aadhaar PAN linking deadline. However, for such people, the Narendra Modi Government has a different kind of news. The Government has said it will impose a penalty of up to ?1,000 in case anyone fails to carry out the PAN-Aadhar linking before 31st March. You will be fined for not linking PAN-Aadhar and you will also be fined for holding an inoperative PAN card. Do you know what is the fine for having an invalid PAN card? It is ? 10,000.
On top of the fine, if your PAN becomes invalid then you will not be able to open demat accounts, avail any type of banking services, mutual funds, open new bank accounts etc. For Aadhaar PAN linking through an SMS, one needs to send an SMS at 567678 or 56161.
Format of the SMS is : UIDPAN<SPACE><12 digit Aadhaar><Space><10 digit PAN>
