Smriti Irani Returns As Tulsi in ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2’

Smriti Irani returns as Tulsi in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi after 25 years, with top security and a grand TV comeback.

If you grew up in the 2000s, you surely remember the famous TV show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. It was not just a serial, it was part of daily life in every Indian home. From 2000 to 2008, everything would stop at 10:30 pm so people could watch Tulsi and Mihir on TV.

Now, almost 25 years later, the show is coming back. Smriti Irani, who played Tulsi, is returning to the show but this time with a twist. Life has changed, people now watch OTT shows and web series, but the love for Tulsi is still alive.

Smriti Irani, now a big political leader and Union Minister, was famous in the 2000s for playing Tulsi Virani. Her sarees, bindi, and style were very popular. She started politics in 2003 while still acting in the show. She earned only ?1,800 per episode back then, but in 2025, she will earn ?14 lakh per episode!

Smriti said she is a “full-time politician and part-time actor” and will only act in this special project. Because of her political role, she will come with Z+ security on set. Mobile phones are banned on the set and no one can share pictures or videos.

This new version of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi will have 150 episodes. The original show had more than 1,800 episodes but ended before 2,000 due to falling TRPs.

Other stars like Amar Upadhyay (Mihir), Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, and Shakti Anand are also coming back, making it a big TV event. The show will air from 29th July 2025 on Star Plus and JioHotstar at 10:30 pm, just like old times.

In the past, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi made history by bringing characters back from death, like Mihir, which increased its popularity. The show also showed bold topics like marital rape and adult education, which was very rare at that time.

Smriti Irani also made news when she was paid more than her male co-actors, something not common in TV even now.

Fans are very excited, sharing old memories and happiness on social media. Amar Upadhyay said it feels like 25 years ago when working with Smriti again.

With high security and strict rules on the set, this comeback feels like a big event, not just a TV serial. The big question now is—will this new generation feel the same magic?

Fans will soon find out!
