Smriti Mandhana's Wedding Postponed After Father Suffers Heart Attack

Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal’s wedding has been postponed after the cricketer’s father suffered a heart attack. The family is now focused on his recovery.

The wedding of Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal has been postponed indefinitely after Smriti’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, suffered a heart attack and was rushed to a hospital in Sangli. The ceremony was originally planned for Sunday, 23rd November, and celebrations had already begun with Mehendi, Haldi, and Sangeet.

The couple had added fun to the celebrations by hosting a friendly Bride Team vs Groom Team cricket match, which brought joy and laughter to the guests. Many of Smriti’s close teammates, including Jemimah Rodrigues, Radha Yadav, Shafali Verma, Arundhati Reddy, and Richa Ghosh, were present. Videos of Mandhana dancing playfully with her teammates during the Haldi ceremony went viral on social media. Another emotional video of Smriti dancing with her father is also being widely shared.

According to Dr. Naman Shah, Director of Sarvhit Hospital, Srinivas Mandhana experienced chest pain before collapsing. He stated that the physical and mental stress of the wedding preparations may have contributed to the heart attack. He also shared that continuous monitoring may be needed, and angiography might be considered.

Smriti’s manager confirmed that she did not want to go ahead with the ceremony during such a difficult time. She decided that the wedding will take place only after her father fully recovers.

ISH News wishes Smriti Mandhana’s father a speedy recovery and will continue to share updates.
