Two Deaf Arrested In Mumbai Local Train For Molesting a Woman

Two Deaf men were arrested after allegedly making vulgar gestures at a woman in a Mumbai local train, raising concerns about rising harassment cases.

A shocking incident has been reported from Mumbai, where two Deaf men were allegedly arrested for making vulgar gestures towards a woman in a local train. The incident reportedly took place in a train travelling from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) towards Ambernath. As soon as the train left CSMT, both accused allegedly began molesting a female passenger and making obscene gestures in front of her. Scared and shocked, the woman immediately informed her relatives about what was happening.

When the train reached Ulhasnagar station, the woman’s relatives, along with other passengers, caught the two accused. The angry crowd assaulted them before handing them over to the Railway Police. Both accused are currently detained by the Kalyan GRP Police, and an investigation is underway.

This case has raised serious concerns about women’s safety in Mumbai local trains. Several similar incidents have been reported just this past week.

In Thane, a 21-year-old girl was molested on the foot-over bridge at Thane railway station. The Railway Police later arrested a 57-year-old man named Sunil Parkar from Diva.

In another incident at Govandi, a man sitting on a bench on a railway platform allegedly kept staring at a young woman on the opposite side. After a few minutes, he began making obscene gestures at her. The young woman confronted him and slapped him. Other passengers supported her and thrashed the man. Many passengers have demanded stronger action from the railway police to improve women’s safety on trains and platforms.
