Satish Shah, beloved actor, passed away at 74 due to kidney failure. His life reflected hard work, devotion to his wife Madhu, and a legacy of unforgettable performances

Satish Shah was born on 25 June 1951 in Mumbai into a humble Gujarati family. He faced tough times early in life, but he had dreams bigger than his means and a deep hunger for opportunity. He worked hard and walked a long road before fame finally found him.

In 1982, he married Madhu Shah. Their bond was special. Satish proposed to her three times, each time showing his love and commitment. They spent decades together, his life filled with laughter, and hers with support. But life brought painful challenges when Madhu was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.

Satish Shah’s biggest breakthrough on screen came with the character Indravadhan Sarabhai in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai (2004). Alongside Ratna Pathak Shah, Sumeet Raghavan, Rupali Ganguly and Rajesh Kumar, he helped create a show that became a cult classic. Beyond television, he worked in films like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983), Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), and Main Hoon Na (2004).

His friend Sachin Pilgaonkar shared that Satish underwent a kidney transplant this year, driven by one wish to live longer and be with Madhu. Producer JD Majethia said Satish even spoke to Ratna Pathak two hours before he passed away.

Satish was found unresponsive at home and rushed to P.D. Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai. He died on 25 October 2025 at the age of 74 due to kidney failure. His journey reminds us of struggle, success, love, and devotion. ISH News extends its condolences. May he rest in peace.
