Recently in Kerala's Palakkad, the death of an elephant after eating a pineapple filled with crackers shocked the country and the news went viral all over social media. A new case of alleged animal cruelty has gone viral all over the country. The incident occurred in Himachal Pradesh's Jhandutta village in Bilaspur district on May 26. Images of the cow, named Nandini, alive with a busted jaw went viral after the cow's owner Gurdyal Singh posted the videos on social media.

Singh suspected his neighbour of deliberately feeding his cow the crackers and sought an investigation into the same.

While an FIR was registered, no arrests have been. People on Twitter were very angry. A person posted on Twitter, “What the hell is wrong with this world? Then Elephant now a Cow? Is there any humanity alive? Shame on every human! This world would be a better place only if all humans will be extinct!” The hashtag #JusticeforNandini began trending.
