Bihar Deaf School Abuse Exposed: CCTV Reveals Shocking Truth

A viral CCTV video exposed repeated abuse of deaf students in a Bihar residential school, triggering outrage and police action against the accused.

A shocking incident from Bihar exposed brutal abuse inside a residential deaf school, sparking outrage across the Deaf community.

At Wagheswari Muk Badhir Awashiya Vidyalaya in Muzaffarpur, CCTV footage from April 30, 2026, showed children being violently beaten by Raju Kumar—brother of the school’s principal and a founding member. The abuse wasn’t new; students had suffered silently for a long time, unaware of their rights or how to report it.

The truth came out when a student accessed the CCTV footage and made it viral. Acting swiftly, the Muzaffarpur Deaf community gathered evidence, and AIFD’s Roshan Kumar filed a police complaint. Authorities reached the school, but the accused fled. Police issued a 72-hour ultimatum, warning action against the principal if he failed to produce him.

Cases have been registered under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, and the Human Rights Committee has stepped in. The incident has triggered a larger demand—greater accountability and Deaf-led management in such institutions.

A painful reminder that silence should never be mistaken for safety—and that awareness and action can bring change.
