Israel Election Results Leave No Bloc With A Majority

Israel's 2026 election results have left the country facing difficult government-formation negotiations. After all votes were counted, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's bloc secured 53 seats, while the opposition bloc won 48. Arab-led parties secured 19 seats. A majority in Israel's parliament, the Knesset, requires 61 seats. This means no bloc has enough seats to form a government on its own.

Netanyahu remains in office while political parties negotiate. The election results have also led to controversy after the Likud camp made claims of election theft and foreign interference. Election officials said these allegations were baseless and would not change the final results.

These were some of the biggest stories from the fifth week of October 2026.
