Horror at France’s Music Festival: 145 Women Attacked with Syringes

On 21 June 2025, France’s Fête de la Musique turned tragic as 145 people, mostly teenage girls, were pricked with syringes in public.

On 21 June 2025, France’s famous music festival, Fête de la Musique, turned from a joyful celebration into a night of fear. Every year, people across France gather to enjoy free music, dancing, and the start of summer. But this year, something shocking happened.

In cities like Paris, Metz, Tours, Évreux, Rouen, and Angoulême, people in the crowd suddenly felt they were being secretly pricked by syringes. By the end of the night, around 145 people, mostly teenage girls, reported feeling sudden stings on their body — arms, back, or lower parts. Some felt pain, dizziness, or even fainted.

Medical teams rushed to help and tested the victims to check if any dangerous drugs were used. The police started investigating quickly. They found that a few days before the festival, disturbing messages were being shared on Snapchat and TikTok, encouraging people to target women during the event. Influencers like Abrège Soeur had already warned the public.

This is not the first time such attacks happened in France. Similar syringe spiking cases were seen in 2022. So far, the police have arrested around 12 to 14 people, including four men from Angoulême believed to be behind many of the attacks, and two others from Metz. One was even seen on CCTV with a syringe.

Police are now checking their phones and social media to find out if it was a planned group attack.

So far, no dangerous drugs have been confirmed in the victims’ bodies. Some fear that “date-rape drugs” like GHB or Rohypnol may have been used, but tests are still going on. Some experts believe the syringes may have been empty or used only to cause fear and panic, maybe even made with compasses or sewing needles.

Even if no drugs were used, people can still fall sick due to stress, shock, or dirty needles. The French government quickly sent alerts on social media and SMS, asking people to stay alert and go to the hospital immediately if they feel a needle prick.

Extra medical teams and police were sent to festival zones, and surveillance cameras were increased. During the festival night, over 370 people were arrested for public disturbance, and 13 police officers were injured.

The government has promised strict action and zero tolerance for such crimes. What should have been a night of music and happiness turned into a planned attempt to scare women. Officials are asking everyone to stay safe and report any suspicious activity immediately.
