“I Was Possessed”: Shocking Claim After Trying to Open Emergency Exit Door in an Indigo Flight

A passenger on an IndiGo flight twice tried to open the emergency exit mid-air, forcing a last-minute go-around before landing safely, after which he was detained by the Central Industrial Security Fo

Mohammad Adnan, a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Mau district, was travelling from Bengaluru to Varanasi on an IndiGo flight on 27 March 2026. About 15 minutes after takeoff, he attempted to open the emergency exit door but stopped after a warning from the crew.

However, just minutes before landing—when the aircraft was around 500 feet above ground—he again tried to open the exit.

The pilot immediately performed a go-around to ensure safety, and the flight later landed safely at 10:35 p.m., leaving over 100 passengers shaken but unharmed.

Adnan was handed over to the Central Industrial Security Force and booked under Section 125 of the BNS for endangering lives.

During questioning, he gave unclear reasons for his actions. After investigation by agencies including ATS and IB, he was served a notice and released to his parents.
