A shocking bank fraud case has emerged from Rajasthan, where Sakshi Gupta, a 26-year-old former Relationship Manager at ICICI Bank in Kota, stole ?4.58 crore from 110 accounts over three years. Most victims were elderly customers unfamiliar with digital banking. She changed mobile numbers to access OTPs, broke fixed deposits, activated overdrafts, and created fake loans. The fraud was discovered in February 2023 and she was arrested in May 2025. All the stolen money was lost in failed stock market investments. ICICI Bank refunded affected customers and is cooperating with police. The case highlights the need for stronger banking security.
