Indian Man Buries Ex-Girlfriend Alive in Australia
Jasmeen Kaur, a student from India, was bound by cables and buried alive by her ex-boyfriend in Australia's Flinders Ranges.
Jasmeen Kaur, 21-year-old nursing student from India, was bound by cables and buried alive by her ex-boyfriend 22 year old Tarikjot Singh in Australia's Flinders Ranges. Tarikjot confessed to killing her. Jasmeen and Tarikjot were dating but then they broke up. However, Tarikjot was obsessed with her and began following her and sending her letters. He kept telling her to get back in the relationship. However she refused.
Tarikjot could not accept this. In February 2021 Jasmeen filed a police complaint saying Tarikjot was stalking her. Singh planned her killing because he was unable to get over the breakdown of their relationship. Jasmeen Kaur's mother Rashpaul said Singh was obsessed with her daughter, who refused him "one hundred times". On 5th March 2021 abducted from her work. He kidnapped Jasmeen from her work place in Adelaide and drove for 4 hours to Flinders Rangers. He had kept Jasmeen in the boot of the car. Upon reaching he tied her hands and legs with taped and cable ties. He blindfolded her eyes and tortured her with ‘superficial’ cuts on the neck.
Tarikjot then buried her alive when she was fully conscious and breathing. When she was buried, she swallowed the soil and died of suffocation. The post-mortem reports confirm that Kaur died the next day on 6 March 2021.Her death was extremely cruel. Eventually the police began looking for Jasmeen and then caught Tarikjot who confessed to the murder. A CCTV footage captured him buying gloves, tape, cable wires and a shovel from a store. Kaur's family, including her mother, had ear said that she was "tormented at the thought" of what her daughter endured in her final moments. Ms Kaur said she would never forgive Singh for what he had done. 5 July 2023 Now the man was told in court he will be jailed for life.
