Israeli PM Netanyahu Dead? Trump To Ban RSS and RAW?
A viral 'six-finger' video sparked false rumours of Benjamin Netanyahu’s death, later denied, even as geopolitical tensions and scrutiny of India’s RSS escalated.
Rumours spread online after false claims about Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s death were followed by speculation that Benjamin Netanyahu had also died. The trigger was a video where his hand briefly looked like it had six fingers, leading many to suspect AI manipulation.
Netanyahu responded with another clip, showing both hands while drinking coffee—but critics questioned that too, citing odd details. Silence from his son Yair Netanyahu added to the buzz. Still, officials confirmed: Netanyahu is alive, and the rumours are false.
Amid this, Iran issued a sharp warning, escalating tensions.
Separately, under Donald Trump, the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom has proposed action against India’s Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and Research and Analysis Wing, citing concerns over bias and operations. If approved, it could lead to sanctions.
The RSS, notably, has been banned three times in India—after Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination, during Indira Gandhi’s Emergency, and after the Babri Masjid crisis under P. V. Narasimha Rao.
A reminder: in the digital age, even a fleeting visual glitch can spark global misinformation.
