Pune Fort Murder: Investigation Reveals Chilling Details
Police uncover shocking new evidence in the Ketan Agarwal murder case as the investigation into Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary continues.
After Ketan Agarwal's death, the investigation moved rapidly, with police uncovering several shocking details.
The Murder Plan
Police allege that Chetan Chaudhary reached Lohagad Fort before Ketan and Siya on 18 June. CCTV footage reportedly showed a man in a hoodie despite the hot weather, raising suspicion. Investigators also claim Chetan carried someone else's phone and avoided buying an entry ticket to escape detection.
According to police, Siya and Chetan had been in a relationship for over a year and had exchanged more than 2,000 phone calls. They allegedly met before the trek to plan the murder, searched online for ways to kill Ketan, rehearsed the crime at the fort, selected the exact location, prepared backup plans, and deleted chats before and after the incident. Their phones have been sent for forensic analysis.
Earlier Attempt?
Ketan's father, Vishal Agarwal, claimed this was not the first attempt. He alleged that during a visit to Lohagad Fort on 14 June, Ketan was pushed from behind but survived after grabbing nearby bushes. Siya reportedly blamed it on seeing a snake.
Ketan Had Become Suspicious
According to his father, Ketan had noticed changes in Siya's behaviour before the wedding and had mentioned a man named Chetan. However, the family did not suspect foul play because both families knew each other.
During interrogation, Siya claimed she wanted to cancel the wedding but Ketan refused. Police, however, say their messages showed they appeared to be a normal, affectionate couple. Siya also reportedly complained about Ketan's hair patch and stammer, but his family insists she already knew about both.
Families React
Ketan and Siya's pre-wedding video went viral, with many commenting on how social media can hide reality.
In a surprising turn, Siya's own parents publicly demanded strict punishment if she is found guilty, while Chetan's father maintains his son's innocence.
Investigation Continues
Ketan's father later met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis seeking a speedy trial, following which senior lawyer Ujjwal Nikam was appointed as the Special Public Prosecutor.
Police have since reconstructed the crime scene at Lohagad Fort and continue examining CCTV footage, forensic evidence, witness statements and mobile phone records. During questioning, Siya and Chetan have reportedly started blaming each other.
Police have also questioned Siya's brother and are investigating additional claims about Siya's behaviour before and after the incident.
Current Legal Position
Police have made several allegations during the investigation. However, Siya's lawyers argue there is no evidence proving she killed Ketan. The investigation is still ongoing, and the court will determine the outcome based on the evidence presented.
