Pune Murder Case Update: Siya and Chetan Secretly Married 4 Months Ago!
Police investigating Ketan Agarwal's murder suspect that accused Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary were secretly married, a revelation that could become a crucial part of the case.
The investigation into the murder of Pune-based Ketan Agarwal has taken a dramatic new turn.
Until now, police believed that accused Chetan Chaudhary and Siya Goyal were in a relationship. However, investigators now suspect that the two may have secretly married nearly four months ago.
According to reports, the couple allegedly got married at a local registrar's office without informing their families. Police are questioning two of Siya's college friends who may have signed as witnesses and are checking whether a marriage certificate was registered under the Special Marriage Act.
If the marriage is confirmed, it could become a key piece of evidence because Siya later got engaged to Ketan Agarwal in February 2026.
Investigators reportedly discovered clues about the alleged marriage while recovering old chats from the accused's phones. Police are also trying to retrieve deleted photographs from a private Instagram account that allegedly showed Siya and Chetan wearing wedding garlands, with some reports even claiming Siya was wearing sindoor. However, these claims have not yet been officially verified.
Police are also examining Chetan's bank records. Reports suggest he may have paid a middleman to bypass the mandatory public notice process under the Special Marriage Act and speed up the registration.
Meanwhile, Siya's lawyer, Advocate Vipul Dushing, has strongly denied the reports of a secret marriage, saying there is no evidence to support the claims.
The court has sent both Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary to 14 days of judicial custody as the investigation continues. Police have also seized a second mobile phone from Siya's house and sent it for forensic examination.
The case has drawn comparisons with the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case. Police claim that Siya had searched online about the case, including how Sonam Raghuvanshi obtained bail and what mistakes she made, allegedly to avoid making similar errors.
Reacting to the developments, Raja's mother, Uma Raghuvanshi, said the allegations against Siya reminded her of her son's murder and expressed sadness that the accused appeared to show no remorse.
