Rats Ate Rs. 12 Lakh Cash Saved Secretly by Wife for 8 Years

A woman in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, had secretly saved money by setting aside small amounts from her household expenses. She kept the cash hidden in a box at home, without even telling her husband.
She planned to use the savings to buy gold jewellery. But when she finally opened the trunk, she found that rats had chewed through the currency notes, leaving many of them badly damaged.
The family managed to recover some usable notes, but a significant amount may have been lost.
A video of the damaged cash has since gone viral on social media.
