Sharjah Murder Mystery: Karnataka Man’s Body Chopped into 9 Parts
A 38-year-old man from Karnataka’s Udupi district, Alwin Prakash Kunder, was allegedly murdered in Sharjah, with his body later found cut into nine pieces inside his car.
A 38-year-old man from Karnataka’s Udupi district, Alwin Prakash Kunder, was allegedly murdered in Sharjah, UAE, in July 2026. His body was later found inside his Toyota car, cut into nine pieces and packed into two bags.
Alwin was a native of Kundapur and had been working at Sharjah Airport for around 14 years. He lived in Sharjah with his wife, Tina Kunder, a schoolteacher, and their son, who is studying in Class 10.
On 20 July, Alwin’s brother, Anil Prashanth Kunder, tried calling him. Alwin did not answer but sent a message saying he was fine. This worried Anil because his brother usually communicated through voice messages.
When Alwin did not answer further calls, Anil contacted his classmate Manohar in Sharjah and asked him to check on him. Manohar went to Alwin’s company-provided flat, where the watchman said Alwin had gone to India. The company’s HR department also initially told the family that he had travelled to India.
Anil said Alwin had not returned to India and asked the company to check. Passport records reportedly showed that Alwin was still in the UAE. A missing-person complaint was then filed.
On 12 August, Alwin’s body was found inside his Toyota, which had been abandoned on a road leading towards Oman in Sharjah. His identity was later confirmed through DNA testing.
Alwin’s wife, Tina, and their teenage son are currently untraceable. Some reports have said they may have travelled to India, but there is no confirmed information about their whereabouts. The family has also raised questions about CCTV footage that they say showed two men and a woman leaving the building.
There have also been reports about possible suspicion surrounding Tina’s involvement. However, there is no confirmed evidence establishing her role, and the exact circumstances of Alwin’s murder remain unclear.
Udupi police are awaiting official information from Sharjah authorities and are helping the family coordinate with the Indian mission. The family has also been seeking the FIR and other details of the investigation.
