Teacher Burns Private Part of 5-Year-Old Boy After He Wets His Pants
Varanasi school under investigation after a nursery student allegedly suffered burn injuries following punishment by a teacher.
A shocking incident has been reported from Serene Sony Play School in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, where a nursery student was allegedly abused by his class teacher.
According to the police, on 24th July 2026, the 5-year-old boy asked his class teacher, Preeti Kushwaha, for permission to go to the washroom during class. The teacher allegedly refused. The child later accidentally urinated in his clothes.
The child's family alleged that the teacher became angry, took him to another room and physically assaulted him, causing burn injuries. They also alleged that she threatened the child not to tell anyone about the incident.
When the boy returned home, he was frightened and crying. He told his parents what had happened. The family tried calling the teacher, but she did not answer. They then contacted the school principal, Hemlata Singh. According to the family, instead of helping them, the principal threatened them.
The next day, the child's father went to the school seeking answers. He alleged that the principal and the school management refused to take responsibility for the incident. He then filed a complaint at Lalpur Pandeypur Police Station.
The child's father became emotional while speaking to the media and said his son had suffered injuries. Police registered an FIR against the teacher, the principal and the school management under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including charges related to causing hurt, causing hurt with a dangerous object and criminal intimidation.
The child was sent for a medical examination. However, police said the first medical report from Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Government District Hospital did not mention any burn injury. They are waiting for further medical findings and continuing the investigation.
Police have seized the school's CCTV footage and DVR, inspected the school kitchen and questioned staff members to find out what happened. No arrests have been made so far.
Reacting to the incident, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav said the case was very serious and that teachers should treat children with empathy and humanity. He demanded strict action against those found responsible.
Police said the investigation is ongoing, and further legal action will be taken based on the evidence collected.
