UP Man Kills 3 Relatives over Cake: Encountered by Police

A birthday party argument over cake-smearing in Bulandshahr escalated into a shooting that killed three people, and the main accused, Jeetu Saini, was later killed in a police encounter.

What began as a birthday celebration in a gym in Bulandshahr turned into a horrifying triple murder.

On the night of 25 April 2026, gym trainer and real estate agent Jeetu Saini was celebrating his birthday with friends and family. After the cake-cutting, some friends smeared cake on his face as a joke. Jeetu took offense, and a heated argument broke out.

Though the situation appeared to calm down, tensions were far from over.

About an hour later, Jeetu returned to the gym with several armed men and a pistol. In a sudden burst of gunfire, three relatives of BJP councillor Sanjay Saini — Manish Saini, Akash Saini, and Amardeep Saini — were shot in the head and killed on the spot.

The attackers fled after removing the gym’s DVR in an apparent attempt to destroy evidence.

While the fight over cake sparked the violence, police believe deeper issues were involved, including a property dispute and possible political rivalry.

An FIR was filed against 10 people. As police closed in, Jeetu was killed in an encounter on 1 May after allegedly opening fire on officers while trying to escape.

The victims’ families say justice has begun. But Jeetu’s family claims the encounter was staged, adding another layer of controversy to a case that started with a birthday party and ended in bloodshed.
