UP: 60 Year Old Arrested for Raping 9 year Old Deaf Girl
A 60-year-old man has been arrested in Uttar Pradesh for allegedly raping a nine-year-old Deaf girl.
In Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh there was a 60 year old man. A 9 year old deaf girl and her family were his neighbours. The man used to call the deaf girl as his ‘grand-daughter’. The old man lured the girl with sweets and took her to the terrace of his house. The girl did not hesitate to go because she knew him, he was her neighbour. On the terrace the old man raped her. When the girl did not return home, her parents started searching for her. They went to the house of the accused. They went to the terrace and caught him in the act.
The old man was caught red-handed while raping the child and the family thrashed him. After that they called the police and handed him over to the police. The old man confessed that the girl was 'an easy prey' since she was deaf.
The police SHO, at Fardhan police station Rakesh Singh Yadav said that an FIR under sections of rape and POCSO Act have been registered against him. On 19th January, the old man was produced in a local court. The court sent him to judicial custody and the victim was sent for medical examination. The police also said that they will soon file the chargesheet and ensure a speedy trial.
