Gaurav Sharma, one of India's biggest YouTubers, has been arrested by the Delhi Police for flying his pet dog after tying it with helium balloons.

Gaurav Sharma is one of India's biggest YouTubers with more than 40 lakhs subscribers. He has a YouTube channel under the name of ‘Gaurav Zone’. One of his videos has gone viral on social media. The video shows YouTuber Gaurav Sharma, sitting on the top of a car.  A bunch of colourful helium-filled balloons can be seen tied to the upper body of the dog. Sharma picks up the dog and says, "Chalo ab Dollar ko uthate hain (Let's fly Dollar now). He then lets loose the balloons and the poor dog floats up to the balcony of a nearby house. In the same video he is with his dog at the park and trying to make it fly with the balloons attached. He did the same in a shop as well. The video of him flying his dog with balloons became viral and has sparked massive outrage on social media platforms. After viewers criticised the video, he removed the clip and uploaded another video saying he took “all safety measures” while making the clip  and assured his viewers that he would not repeat it in the future.

Gaurav Gupta, belonging to the NGO 'People for Animals Society' filed a complaint at the Malviya Nagar police station. He alleged that Gaurav Sharma, and a few others had filmed a video on 21st May in which they were seen to have tied his pet dog with helium balloons and later they let loose the balloons. This made the dog fly in the air and hence, risking its life. He has been arrested by the Delhi Police and has been released on bail.
