India Strikes Pakistan, Launches ‘Operation Sindoor’
India launched Operation Sindoor, striking 9 terror camps in Pakistan and PoK in response to the Pahalgam attack, marking a major counter-terror action.
In a strong reply to the Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian Army and Air Force launched a powerful operation called ‘Operation Sindoor’, targeting nine terrorist bases across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
The Indian forces struck terror camps in Kotli, Muzaffarabad (2 sites), Gulpur, Bhimber, Sialkot, Bahawalpur, Muridke, and Chak Amru. The strikes were carried out with full planning and used precision weapons.
According to reports, Bahawalpur is the main base of Jaish-e-Mohammed, led by Masood Azhar, and Muridke is the base of Lashkar-e-Taiba, led by Hafiz Saeed, who was behind the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Many senior terrorists from these groups are believed to be killed in the strikes.
The Indian government has made it clear that only terrorist camps were attacked, not military camps, and called it a "non-escalatory" strike. But if Pakistan chooses to respond, India is ready for a full war. More than 80 Indian aircraft are already positioned near the border.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and NSA Ajit Doval have been closely monitoring the situation since the start of the operation. Videos of the strikes are going viral on social media, showing terrorist bases being turned to ashes.
After the strike, Pakistan has declared an emergency, and airports in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Skardu, and other cities are on high alert. In India, flights to and from Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Chandigarh, and other northern cities may face delays or cancellations.
World leaders have started reacting. US President Donald Trump said he hopes the situation ends quickly, while Russian President Vladimir Putin had earlier assured support to India in the fight against terrorism.
Meanwhile, Pakistan is spreading fake videos, claiming to have shot down Indian jets. One such video is actually from 2024 and not related to the current situation. Citizens are advised to not share unverified news or videos online.
This strike is being called historic, as it is the first time India has hit terror camps inside Pakistan, not just PoK, like in Uri and Balakot strikes.
The name ‘Operation Sindoor’ might be a tribute to the Hindu men killed in the Pahalgam attack, where many women were left widows. In Hindu culture, sindoor (vermillion) is worn by married women, and its removal marks widowhood.
Pakistan has called India’s action an “act of war” and has warned of retaliation. With rising tensions, all Indians are urged to stay alert, united, and support the government and the armed forces.
