Mumbai BMW Crash: 3 Students Killed, 1 Critical After Car Falls 75 Feet
Three students were killed and one was critically injured after a BMW crashed through the barrier and fell nearly 75 feet from Mumbai’s Coastal Road.
Three Students Killed in BMW Crash on Mumbai Coastal Road
On 20 September 2026, four young students were travelling in a black BMW on Mumbai’s Coastal Road at around 5:00 AM. The students had spent time at Marine Drive and were returning when the car lost control near Lotus Jetty. Police said the car was travelling at high speed. It hit the outer wall of the Coastal Road and fell nearly 75 feet onto a construction site below.
CCTV footage captured the crash. The BMW was badly damaged in the impact. All four students were taken to Nair Hospital. Three students — Sanay Gujjar, 21, Aditya Jakasania, 19, and Dhairya Sheth, 17 — were declared dead. Aditya Oswal was seriously injured and remained under treatment.
All four students were from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and were studying in Mumbai. The BMW belonged to Sanay Gujjar’s family, and he was driving the car.
Police informed the families of the victims and began investigating the accident. They are looking into whether overspeeding or other factors caused the driver to lose control.
The tragic crash has once again raised concerns about speeding and road safety on Mumbai’s Coastal Road.
