Robbery or Rape? IRS Officer’s Daughter Raped and Killed by Ex-Househelp
A man carried out a brutal rape, murder, and robbery in Delhi after committing another sexual crime hours earlier, before being tracked and arrested within 12 hours.
On the night of 21 April 2026, Rahul Meena attended a wedding in Alwar, Rajasthan—then allegedly committed a sexual assault and theft at a friend’s home before fleeing to Delhi.
By early morning on 22 April, he reached a South Delhi residence where he had previously worked and knew the family’s routine. Entering the house using a spare key, he confronted the 22-year-old daughter—an IIT Delhi graduate preparing for UPSC. What began as a demand for money escalated into a violent attack, followed by rape. He then attempted to access the family locker, ultimately breaking it open and stealing cash and jewellery.
After changing clothes inside the house, he fled on foot and later hid in a Dwarka hotel, using WiFi and social media to contact relatives. Within 12 hours, Delhi Police tracked him through CCTV and digital surveillance and arrested him.
During interrogation, Rahul claimed robbery was his motive, though police suspect otherwise given his earlier alleged crime the same night. Investigators also revealed a pattern of financial distress, gambling addiction, and prior misconduct.
He now faces charges of rape, murder, and robbery.
The victim was a high-achieving student and dancer, remembered for her academic excellence and promise.
