Triple Murder in Prayagraj: Three Deaf People Killed

3 Deaf people were found murdered in a rented room in Prayagraj, with police questioning several suspects and investigating a possible personal dispute.

On 5 August, three Deaf people, including a husband, his wife and another Deaf woman, were found dead inside a rented room in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The victims were a 35-year-old Deaf man, his 34-year-old Deaf wife and a 45-year-old Deaf woman. They earned money by collecting and selling scrap.

The Deaf couple had been living in the room for around six months and paid Rs.2,000 rent every month. Their identities have not yet been officially confirmed as they did not have Aadhaar cards. The third woman frequently visited them and sometimes had arguments with the couple.

Police suspect the three were attacked with a heavy object, possibly a gas cylinder. The bodies were found inside the room with serious head injuries. Police also found an empty liquor bottle and other items scattered around the room, suggesting that alcohol may have been consumed during the night.

The landlady, Sushila Devi, discovered the bodies around 7 a.m. after noticing that the man had not gone out for work as usual. She immediately informed her son and neighbours, following which the police reached the spot.

During the investigation, police found a mobile number inside the room belonging to a Deaf man from Varanasi. He has been called to Prayagraj for questioning. Police are trying to understand his connection with the victims.

Four people, including the landlady’s son Pankaj, have been taken into custody for questioning. Police are also questioning two local youths. CCTV footage and other evidence are being examined to find out what happened that night.

The police are currently investigating whether the murders were linked to a personal dispute or whether another person was involved. The identities of all three victims are still being verified, and the investigation is continuing.
