Andaman And Nicobar Islands Set 2 Guinness World Records in 2 Days!

India set two Guinness World Records in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands by creating the largest underwater Indian flag display and the tallest human chain underwater.

India created history in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands by unfurling the world’s largest Indian flag underwater, earning a Guinness World Record.

On 2nd May at Radhanagar Beach, Swaraj Dweep (Havelock Island), 223 divers from the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, Police, Forest Department, and scuba diving centres joined hands to spread a massive 60m x 40m tricolour beneath the sea.

Despite strong currents, underwater pressure, and low visibility, the divers executed the mission with perfect coordination. Adding to the pride, three young students aged 14 to 16 were also part of the historic dive.

At 10:35 AM, Guinness adjudicator Rishi Nath officially confirmed the record and presented the certificate to D. K. Joshi.

The celebrations didn’t stop there. On 3rd May, another Guinness World Record was set at the Lighthouse dive site on Swaraj Dweep, where 14 people formed a 22.3-metre-tall human chain underwater for 3 minutes.

These record-breaking events were organised to showcase the breathtaking underwater beauty of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and promote them as a world-class destination for diving and adventure tourism.
