Two Women Drag Dog Behind Two-Wheeler
Two women from Punjab's Patiala were arrested for tying a dog on their scooter and dragging him on the street.
Recently, a video went viral where 2 women were dragging a dog tied to their two wheeler. The incident reportedly took place on 20th June in the city of Patiala in Punjab. Because of the dragging the poor dog was dangerously wounded. The dog eventually died of its injuries on 24th June. Police registered a case of animal cruelty after receiving a complaint from animal rights NGO Chopaya Jeev Rakha Foundation. The women were arrested by the police on charges of animal cruelty. Their names are Chanchal and Sonia, who reside in Adarsh Nagar area in Patiala. The women were later released on bail. The police said, "The scooter used by the women has been seized. During questioning the women said the dog had turned violent and had attacked a kid at their house. Which is why they tied the dog to their two wheeler to take it to Bhakra canal. The dog was actually someone’s pet and they wanted to leave it at the canal but some activists stopped them on the way and informed the police.” Sadly the dog passed away because of its injuries.
